When the associated press is calling Macedonians people with Slavic background and history then we all understand that the U.S. and EU wants to destabilize the area. Because wherever there is a North country there is always a South country as well. Shame on you AP

Don't change it, it's a trap! UGH. This is such a waste. What little is left of the country and its diaspora will be dead if this goes through 😭

Alexsandar40

Just so silly. Why not just change the name to Alexander the Great!

Alexander does not approve.

Meanwhile, Trump considers changing name to “North United States.”

AP Explains: Brexit awakens old fears in Northern IrelandLONDON (AP) — Northern Ireland's wounds are deep: Bloody Sunday, Enniskillen, Belfast's sectarian killings of Catholics and Protestants by paramilitaries on both sides and British Army and Royal Ulster Constabulary shootings and crackdowns. Time has not completely healed the hatred, distrust and fear of those caught up in the decades-long conflict that killed more than 3,700 people and largely ended with the 1998 peace accord. Now, Brexit's intense focus on the future of the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland has prompted worries of new violence. AP Explains: How Germany hopes to quit using coalBERLIN (AP) — Germany wants to stop using coal, a major source of the carbon emissions that drive climate change. But finding the least disruptive way to get there has been a challenge. A big question is not only when the last mines and power plants will close down, but how quitting coal can be done without generating drawn-out protests or harming the German economy. A government-appointed panel of experts is poised to offer recommendations. Despite months of deliberations, the panel remained undecided on key issues ahead of a key meeting on Friday. wirereporter wirereporter lest it be ignored Germany has the most polluting brown coal power plant in the world used to build these green turbines that break+solar cells that has seen the silver go from our pockets to our roofs by govt subsidy gift+favour why did Germany not pay the war costs=brexit compo wirereporter TL;DR...Germans stop using coal by becoming dependent on the whims of Putin’s natural gas supply.

AP Explains: Why Congo's election could lead to violenceJOHANNESBURG (AP) — The results of Congo's presidential election were delayed Sunday. Some 80 U.S. military personnel have been deployed to Central Africa to protect U.S. assets from possible 'violent demonstrations' in Congo over the election outcome. The international community has warned Congo's government that the results must accurately reflect the people's will — and that internet service should be restored. The Catholic Church, a powerful critic during two years of election delays, has angered Congo's ruling party by saying data collected by its 40,000 vote observers show a clear winner. While only the electoral commission can announce results, the church likely has determined that leading opposition candidate Martin Fayulu won. Vive Martin Fayulu! I say! 🍀💚 God no, the Congo cant fall into unrest, it might be like the Congo.

AP Explains: Can Trump use an emergency to build his wall?WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration is weighing using a national emergency declaration to circumvent Congress and the budget stalemate and force construction of the president's long-promised southern border wall. 'We're looking at a national emergency because we have a national emergency,' President Donald Trump told reporters Sunday amid stalled negotiations. He said during a press conference Friday that he would prefer to win the money he's demanding via Congress, but could 'absolutely' call an emergency 'and build it very quickly.' 'Can Trump use chopsticks without hurting himself?' Yes. My guy says no but my heart says do it anyway

AP Explains: Trump-Kim summit in Vietnam may be win for allBANGKOK (AP) — Vietnam's selection as the venue for the second summit between President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is largely a matter of convenience and security, but not without bigger stakes. Washington's goal for the talks Feb. 27-28 is for North Korea to agree give up its nuclear weapons. North Korea frames the issue more broadly, seeking a removal of the 'nuclear threat' from U.S. military forces in South Korea. Host Vietnam hopes to boost its diplomatic leverage against its powerful neighbor, China, which contests waters in the South China Sea claimed by Hanoi. Funny how open 45 is about his meetings with North Korea, but we don't know a word he spoke to Putin. Is it just me, or is that strange? Thought he couldn’t go to Vietnam because he’s got bone spurs? Trump will develop bone spurs and cancel the summit
