Guidance from the CDC outlined ways for communities to decide when to shut down during future flareups of COVID-19. The AP has obtained additional details about the guidance, which was shelved by the Trump administration.

Senators and staff listen to Dr. Robert Redfield, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, speak remotely during a virtual Senate Committee for Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions hearing, Tuesday, May 12, 2020 on Capitol Hill in Washington.

By contrast, the organizational tool created by the CDC advocates for a coordinated national response to give community leaders step-by-step instructions to “help Americans re-enter civic life,” with the idea that there would be resurgences of the virus and lots of customization needed. The White House said last week that the document was a draft and not ready for release.

“Many different places are considering how to safely develop return-to-work procedures. Having more guidance on that earlier on might have been more reassuring to people. And it might have have prevented some cases,” Morse said. One of many differences, however, is advice for when communities should allow for the resumption of nonessential travel.

Get it out there so states can prepare themselves regardless. The federal government can keep its head buried in the sand and claim the credit after.

K'bullship

This needs to be made public

GOP OVERSIGHT: Oxymoron

Was that before or after the lying by the CDC?

We need to open safely 40,000 people a year die from car accidents we do not stop driving cars! 35,00 to 50,00 died each year from alcohol related deaths we don’t stop sellers by liquor. How many people die from the flu . Herd mentality? Maybe

Of course Doctors opinions about health are going to be different than nonmedical people

Nope. Done. We aren't shutting shit down again.

Today Dr Fauci during his testimony made it very clear, we should listen to the medical profession not the political regarding the virus an our future

Can't read it all, it's too awful to read about a reasonable plan with life saving measures that we will never see.

These are public documents why is Trump hiding them. I doubt he cares other countries are going to steal the plan

This is only the beginning of Trump’s political demise

If it won't be implemented, how is your publication of it helpful/useful?

This virus isn't going away. There will be random flare ups every year

The Pricktator administration is a joke

Oh yea I bet you did 🙄🙄🙄

When the president hides anything that would hurt his big beautiful economy. So much for the party of pro-life.

Why could the incompetent Trump administration shelve a CDC report during a pandemic? 🤔

CDC is a joke.
