The root of all anxiety is in the soul field, what scientists call the vascular system. Prayer, fasting, the practice of love are the best natural remedies to deal with anxiety. By prayer, I mean speaking in tongues or chanting mantras like Buddhists.
The ROOT of Anxiety is a STUCK FEAR... the technique unsticks it... Anxiety still may exist as a potential state, and other episodes can occur...but the technique will work on the next episode...and the next... so far for me ... for 11 YEARS.... Even WITH a medical issue...

Mostly relevant to panic rather than all anxiety, and habituation isn't the theorized mechanism of change for exposure; inhibitory learning is.
Not sure about general anxiety, but panic disorder definitely works this way.
