Antioch city leaders have chosen Prewett Family Park as its preferred location for a new bicycle park with a miniature city streetscape design and real-life traffic features to help youths and adults learn the rules of the road.— the first in the region — in the existing city park at 4701 Lone Tree Way while choosing Gentrytown Park as an alternative location if one is needed.
“I’m really excited this item is back before you,” Antioch Parks and Recreation Director Brad Helfenbeger said. “It’s been a long time coming.”landscaped areas with smaller-scaled versions of real-life traffic features, including signals, traffic signs, road markings, bus stops, bike lanes, train tracks and more, he said.
“When we were looking at all of these opportunities, we tried to partner with schools that are pretty close in proximity because we don’t want it just to be something that the residents of Antioch can go to, but we want the possibility for schools to use those spaces for tutorials and events that they can have there as well,” she said.
If the plan moves forward at the undeveloped site at Prewett Park, though, grading of the slope would be required and the frisbee golf course would have to be reconfigured, she noted.
Ha ha, so you've given the dealers and junkies a new place to congregate. Perfect. How about funding the police to clean up your filthy community?
