In an appearance on Fox Business, Luna discussed the early retirement of Rep. Mike Gallagher , publicly asking him to depart immediately in order to prevent a special election. On the topic of early departing congressmen, she turned her attention to Buck, who abruptly resigned earlier this month.
The Biden administration has been using their appointees to shut down any investigation into Hunter Biden and his business dealings: Rep. Anna Paulina Luna“I don’t know that I’ve publicly said this, but with what Rep. Buck had done, especially to another member of Congress, in potentially hamstringing Rep. Boebert’s election, I actually was the member that came forward and asked him to leave the Freedom Caucus,” Luna said.
The fiery Republican was booted from the House’s loudest group of rebels just days before he left Congress altogether. Buck announced his early retirement after expressing bitterness about the current Congress, saying it was the worst of his career. He said he wouldn’t run for reelection in November, but joined a growing list of Republicans who decided to end their terms prematurely in the wake of chaos and infighting racking the conference.“It is the worst year of the nine years and three months that I’ve been in Congress.
Several Republicans have left Congress early, including former Rep. George Santos, who was expelled. The departures have shrunk Republicans’ majority in the House, which will be down to one after Gallagher leaves next month.
