Andy Cohen Goes on Epic Drunken NYE Rant Against de Blasio

, Andy Cohen unleashed an incredible, very drunken 45-second rant against outgoing New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.

The Bravo exec and his buddy Anderson Cooper were in the midst of co-hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve special live from Manhattan’s Times Square when, after taking a shot of tequila, Cohen went in on the deeply disliked ex-mayor. “Watching Mayor de Blasio do his victory-lap dance after four years of the crappiest term as the mayor of New York!” exclaimed Cohen, as Cooper begged “don’t go on a rant” and tried to reel the slurring TV personality in. “The only thing that Democrats and Republicans can agree on is what amayor he has been.

The rant came just as Eric Adams was sworn in as the new mayor of New York City from Times Square following the ball drop. “It’s just great when New York shows the entire country how we come back,” Adams told the assembled crowd. “You know, we all lived through our Pearl Harbor moments. It may be the Great Depression, the attack on Pearl Harbor, it may be COVID. But the reality is the resiliency of our city and our country, we show the entire globe what we’re made of. We’re unbelievable, this is an unbelievable city and trust me, we’re ready for a major comeback because this is New York.

It was not funny. It was embarrassing to watch this while his buddy Anderson Cooper was sounding like a giggling 15 year old girl. Why would CNN allow this? Can’t they find 2 actual comedians to do this gig?

Epic? It was a rant. He was drunk. He did go off on Mayor De Blasio......it WAS not epic. noun* a long poem, typically one derived from ancient oral tradition, narrating the deeds and adventures of heroic or legendary figures or the history of a nation.

CNN had a great New Year's Eve team - and threw it away. AndyCohen is an - unfunny - joke.

He was right though. No one liked DeBlasio.

I had a five minute pause cause I thought after that many would come after watching and then knowingly understand. Cudos to everyone on tv 🙏🏾

I’m not a fan of de Blasio, but Cohen is arguably the most annoying “celebrity” there is. Also responsible for 90% of the garbage on tv.

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Anderson looked so embarrassed.

I used to watch this show every year when kathygriffin was still one of the co-hosts. She was hilarious, but after they put Andy on as her replacement, who has a history himself, and Anderson’s betrayal, I’ve never watched again. And it looks like that was a good choice.

It was quite the show, every year. This was even a bit more exceptional 😏

Further evidence of the decline of America. It was embarrassing. And reminds us of the loss of civility post-Trump. Now, instead of reasoned discourse, everything is a barroom brawl.
