Carrie may be getting over Big quite soon. 👀 John Corbett is returning to the SexAndTheCity universe with a reported role in AndJustLikeThat season 2 as Aidan Shaw.

And Just Like That season 2 will bring back John Corbett as Sex and the City's Aidan Shaw. Starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon, and Kim Cattrall, Sex and the City ran on HBO for six successful seasons from 1998 to 2004. Created by Darren Star, the acclaimed series follows four friends - Carrie, Charlotte, Miranda, and Samantha - as they navigate careers, relationships, and sexual endeavors in New York City.

In 2020, HBO announced that a Sex and the City sequel series, And Just Like That, was in the works. Following the announcement that And Just Like That would move forward without Cattrall attached, Corbett revealed he would reprise his role as Carrie's ex-fiance Aidan in the reboot series. In December 2021, HBO Max debuted And Just Like That, which explores the lives of Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte as they embark on a new decade of their lives.

Since first appearing in Sex and the City season 3 as a furniture maker who encourages Carrie to quit smoking, Aidan quickly became a key character. Of course, Aidan's return in the Sex and the City 2 film caused strife among fans who felt that Aidan and Carrie received proper closure in season 6. Now that Carrie is embarking on a new chapter in her life, however, Aidan appearing in her life after the death of Mr. Big could provide a compelling story arc for season 2.

Featuring storylines of life-changing revelations, redemption, divorce, and ageism, And Just Like That season 1 received plenty of mixed reviews from viewers. Mainly, the absence of Samantha , the decline of Steve Brady , and the lack of Carrie's narration were the top criticisms of the sequel series. However, season 2 has a chance to return to the show's roots while offering a new chapter for Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte to unpack.
