Analysis: Sen. Sanders drives toward Super Tuesday delegate haul as establishment frets.

Sanders is the only candidate who can be confident that he will meet the 15 percent threshold to qualify for the pool of 144 delegates decided by the statewide vote in California — and if no other candidate meets that benchmark, he'll get all of them.

They are also working under the assumption that if there was just one alternative to Sanders, he would lose. But there's no real evidence to support that position, and no reason to think there will be one alternative anytime soon. There are wrinkles to the delegate rules in a couple of states, like Texas with its state Senate district delegates, but they are fairly consistent and easy to follow. Delegates are allocated to candidates based on the voting results in each state and congressional district across the country.

Sanders will win fewer delegates if more candidates meet the threshold in states and districts where he comes in first. But if different rivals qualify in different states and districts — which is all but certain — they will siphon strength from one another even as they keep him further from attaining a majority of delegates overall. That is, the more even the spread of delegates among the other candidates, the more incentive there is for each of them to keep running.

He may pull it off after all 💁🏾‍♀️

Putin must be loving this guy. The amount of wealth shifted out of the US if he gets elected will be catastrophic.

Who is going to vote for a communist people voted for Trump which is bad enough

He’s won two small contests. Hold onto the crown. K?

I'm just waiting for this dem fracturing to cause intraparty violence. It's only a matter of time.

If you all don’t want him to win the Democratic Primary you shouldn’t have invited him to play. Same thing in 16. Bernie would have beat tRump in 16 and he’ll do it in 2020

there is no law in the Constitution stating or a law saying a sitting President or anyone running for one have to be an extreme democrat or extreme republican like what is happening now using fear

I thought that the Democrats describe themselves as the Big Tent Party. Why would they be fretting that someone they let in that tent is winning?

he's a card carrying Socialist supported by putin and trump that despises the Democratic party and will go down in a ball of flames running against trump. He's supported by a mere 30% of the party.

morgfair Campaigns that are penetrated by Russia should be disqualified from running. If they are so weak as to let the enemy in, how can they be trusted as president to keep America safe?

So now you all are calling Democrats the “Establishment”? What about Bernie and his “Establishment” trying to DESTROY the Party that I’ve supported loyally for 33 Years. I’m a Proud Registered Democrat, and it’ll be a cold day in hell before I EVER vote for an Independent!

IAMProudDemocraticSocialist

Please let Sanders be the nominee for a easy republican win

And Putin celebrates.

'establishment' - dude we just want to beat Trump. and I think people underestimate how many people are afraid of 'socialism'.

Sanders lied to every single one of US. He KNEW Russia was helping him. Why would Russia want to help Bernie? A vote for Bernie is a vote for trump. FUN FACT: BERNIE VOTED AGAINST RUSSIA SANCTIONS. NeverBernie

Democrats Seek Delegate Edge in Nevada’s Vast HinterlandIn their hunt for delegates who could secure them the Democratic presidential nomination, candidates in Saturday’s Nevada caucuses are looking toward the state’s vast, sparsely populated regions known as The Rurals.
