In a startling shift from previous years, the latest Gallup poll reveals that a majority of Americans feel a lack of sleep is affecting their well-being.

Unfortunately, it appears American sleep habits have deteriorated over decades, with only a quarter currently enjoying more than eight hours of sleep, while an alarming 20% manage five hours or less. A deeper look into gender-specific data shows women consistently report more sleep deprivation than men, with only 36% of females feeling well-rested compared to 48% of males. These figures are the lowest recorded by Gallup for both demographics.
