American, Israeli Leaders Denounce ICC Warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu

American and Israeli politicians are reacting to reports that the International Criminal Court is seeking an arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.and Yahya Sinwar, Hamas's leader in Gaza, for potential war crimes and crimes against humanity. Purported Israeli crimes included systematically depriving civilians of “objects indispensable to human survival,” including food, water, medicine, and energy.

Rep. Chip Roy has introduced a bill that would sanction ICC officials who investigate U.S. citizens or allies. It's supported by nearly two dozen other Republicans, including Rep. Elise Stefanik , chair...Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has angrily condemned the International Criminal Court's prosecutor for seeking arrest warrants for him alongside Hamas's leaders over alleged war crimes in the Gaza conflict.

Mr Netanyahu's comments have been echoed by US President Joe Biden, who said there was no equivalence between Israel and Hamas.
