American Horror Story: Delicate Earns Best Rotten Tomatoes Score For AHS Since 2019

American Horror Story, which premiered on FX in 2011, tells a new, largely self-contained, story every season.

Now that American Horror Story season 12 episode 1 has premiered, Rotten Tomatoes has been able to aggregate its reviews into an official score. While the score could fluctuate over time as more reviews are added, at the time of writing the season holds 86% from critics and 65% from audiences. These are the best scores for the show in both categories since 2019's season 9, American Horror Story: 1984, which has 88% from critics and 75% from audiences.

American Horror Story Is Still Going Strong Over the years, American Horror Story has established a strong record with critics. Every single season has received a Fresh rating, ranging from season 5, Hotel, at 64% to 1984's 88% score, meaning that American Horror Story season 12 is toward the top of the ranking.

Audience scores for the American Horror Story seasons have varied more than critics' scores. The lowest audience score ever given was 40% to season 11, NYC. However, the highest audience score is even higher than the critics' peak, with a 90% total granted to season 2, Asylum. Although American Horror Story: Delicate has reached a peak for the show in the new decade, the franchise hasn't experienced any major critical low periods since it premiered. This is good news for American Horror Story season 13, which has already been renewed. If that new season keeps up this streak, the show could potentially continue for even more seasons to come.
