American Airlines’ union pilots are picketing Thursday at DFW International Airport as they push for a new contract with the Dallas-based carrier, but the employees aren’t ready to walk off of airplanes and off the job anytime soon.It was the second year of massive losses for American Airlines, which has become the norm an industry that had to rely on massive amounts of debt and government assistance to survive the financial impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
American’s $9.4 billion in revenue for the fourth quarter was the best sales figure the company has recorded since the COVID-19 pandemic began, more than double the number American saw in the fourth quarter of 2020. However, revenue was still 17% lower than during the same quarter in 2019.

Orange County school absences decreasing, indicating possible peak in omicron surgeThere may be signs that the surge in the COVID-19 omicron variant has peaked in Orange County, where school districts are reporting lower numbers of absences. My pen fell off from my desk, omicron pushed it. It's certainly sad that we're more dependent on the virus to be kind to our children then for grown ups to get vaccinated and yes I know the science vaccination doesn't give you 100% that you won't get sick but at least the kids that were going into the hospital could be saved It hasn't peaked yet.
