AMC said the pricing plan, dubbed “Sightline,” has already been rolled out in some locations and, by the end of the year, will be in place at all domestic AMC theaters during showings after 4 p.m. Seats classified as “standard sightline” will be at the regular price. If you want to pay less for the “value sightline” seats, you have to be a member of the chain’s subscription service, AMC Stubs.
As movie theaters have attempted to recover from the pandemic, exhibitors have increasingly looked at more variable pricing methods. That’s included charging more for sought-after movies like “The Batman” in their first week of release.

I love the free market. If people are willing to pay for this service, the model will survive and flourish. If people refuse to pay these fees, the market will adjust. We the people set the prices in the service and entertainment industry.

They better start streaming movies for public viewing. Allow me to pick a show I WANT to see on the big screen with quality sound. I watch movies on a phone now, I no longer have movie standards. Some movies are better on the big screen so I’d watch those. But not this.
This type of stuff is why we no longer go to the theater. Price is ridiculous at this point.
KMJNOW Yeah no thanks. I went Sony 85” ultra and 7.1 audio long ago at home and said goodbye to theaters for good. Better quality and my popcorn is cheaper and tastes better and I always have the best seat. So very stupid of AMC. They’ll see.

How about giving me back some money when the movie sucked or when someone was talking during it.
I like that spot that is in the middle, but is the first row of the back section where there isn't really anyone in front of you except a guardrail and extra leg room. I'll pay extra for that while the poor sit below me.
