Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slammed Amazon for getting a federal tax refund this year and last despite booking billions in profit. A close look at Amazon’s finances shows the Vermont independent and Bronx Democrat will have more to get upset about, because the internet giant has billions of dollars in various credits it could apply to offset future taxes as well.

The two empty-headed

Meanwhile AOC blocks 25k jobs from NYC and after a campaign slamming luxury realtors and unaffordable housing she moves into luxury hi-rise apt. Will the real AOC please stand up?

Amazon was set to pay NY around $27b in taxes, create 25k jobs that payed an average salary of$150k. AOC wanted them to pay more taxes, so the jobs left. This is how democratic socialism treats companies, hopefully Amazon doesn't go to Mexico, FL is business friendly Socialism

Finland is another country these 2 hold up as examples of model socialism. While AOC and Sanders support raising corporate taxes Finland is business friendly with a 20% corporate tax rate. Low corporate taxes create jobs and wealth

They hold Norway up as the Socialist model for the US. They never tell you how little Scandinavian corporations pay in taxes (24%) or that the working class pay around 60% in fed/ssn taxes. They are capitalist countries. See their tax rates below!

Were they following the law? If yes, what’s all the fuss about? If they do t like the law, convince other congressman to change it. Simple.

is anybody still takes them seriously

Yes. Why stop at Amazon, tax them all. Tax everyone to the death. Big government needs every last of your penny so that they can feed you, tell you what to eat, how to think, and maybe where to sleep...

So MW we should not buy Amazon stock? Should Amazon close its doors and fire ALL employees? Now do like CA pay them 70.00 a month or NYC 200.00 per year 🚑 Where did Bernie get his millions? Should they slam Google, tesla... This only shows how socialist views will kill freedom

Plus the last two seasons af Baywatch is mossing from Prime! What a rip when they can’t have a complete series on Video!

Congress writes the tax laws. If profitable corporations aren’t paying any taxes then that’s where the blame should be placed..

thanks for updates marketwatch

Amazon must've taken advantage of those new 100% deductions and special exemptions huh 😅🤒🙃😈 Smoke&Mirrors No honor amongst thieves, Mr. Gov't ., tisk tisk

These two dumbasses go after the very corporations that provide jobs and income to the economy and want to tax the crap out of them. Corporations will just relocate maybe even outside the US. I’d rather have some % of something rather than 70% of nothing.

'I don't see buybacks as a problem' — GOP Sens Toomey and Scott slam Marco Rubio's tax proposalSen. Marco Rubio's fellow Republican from Florida, Sen. Rick Scott, also told CNBC Thursday that he does not support Rubio's tax scheme on buybacks nor the Schumer-Sanders proposal. Imagine the nerve of a company, buying their own stock. Did they really 'slam' him or did they simply disagree with his view? I saw the scott interview and i didn't see any 'slamming' going on in the discussion. When a stock price is undervalued, often makes sense to buy back shares. Repeated buybacks at high multiples, taking on debt to fund buybacks, buybacks in place of growth or efficiency...executives bonus on share price, those could be problems. Leave that to the shareholders.
