The termination of Emily Cunningham and Maren Costa, who worked as user-experience designers in Seattle, came in a couple of weeks after the company fired another employee Christian Smalls for raising health and safety concerns for people laboring through the outbreak. Amazon said it supported “every employee’s right to criticize their employer’s working conditions, but that does not come with blanket immunity against any and all internal policies.”

Somehow, I don't believe Amazon. Those employees probably complained about having to work under unsafe conditions or refused to work under unsafe conditions. The bottom line is the only thing Bezos' cares about.

Well if it happened in California I can tell you from personal experience that if Amazon lies, EDD and the labor board could careless. No mechanism to report fraud with EDD and labor flat out tells you that they ignore certain law violations and there is no appeal process.
