Brooke tellsthat when she was first kicking off her solo career, she had an A&R meeting where she was played a bunch of potential songs. “All of a sudden, I hear this new song,” she recalls, noting that she fell in love with it and was instantly hooked on the beat. She then turned to the A&R and stated that she “needed” that to be her record.
After a few more weeks passed, they got the files and Brooke was able to finally record the song on what ended up being the day before Halloween -- resulting in the session taking place in a studio filled with skeleton and spider-web decorations.
