The family of a man who allegedly gunned down 22 people at a Walmart in El Paso and reportedly told investigators he intended to kill as many Mexicans as he could says he was"influenced and informed by people we do not know."

One week after his 21st birthday, Crusius allegedly drove more than 650 miles to El Paso from his suburban Dallas home, allegedly bent on targeting Mexicans, authorities said. El Paso is about five miles from the U.S.-Mexico border. Crusius was arrested shortly after the attack and charged with capital murder. Federal authorities are handling the case as a"domestic terrorism" incident and said they could seek federal hate-crime and weapons charges that carry the death penalty.

"Since learning of the events in El Paso this past Saturday morning, we have been and are focused on the lives lost, those struggling in their recovery, and the countless families and friends of those affected by this atrocity," the family said."We also know that the destruction Patrick did is not limited to the victims and their families. It touches the entire El Paso and Ciudad Juarez communities, the State of Texas and this country.

This is hate crime and we all now it, stop the hate People are stupid

I don’t blame one person. Because we all hear the same message and we don’t all immediately reach for our assault rifles. The message that is falling on deaf ears is that no one should have the right to purchase a weapon like that for protection, hunting, or recreation use.

Well why didn’t they say something to the police

I mean, they didn't KNOW Donald Trump (like he doesn't have dinner w/ them and regal them w/ racist stories of Central Park) BUT they know who Donald Trump is.

Not sure why that matters. Is the left calling for more guns and calling immigrants and infestation? Leftists are so radicalized and ill-tempered. Makes total sense to me Like most mass shooters, he had a history of violence toward women, or at least a deeply rooted hatred for women. Toxic Masculinity is a huge issue no matter the politics. What matters is that people like him, and people like the El Paso shooter do not need access to guns

Accused El Paso Shooter’s Family Blames Outside Influences, Denounce His ActionsThe family of accused El Paso mass shooter Patrick Crusius denounced the influences that they said drove him to open fire at a Walmart Saturday and called the shooting, in which 22 people died, an atrocity. I can point out at least one. “Accused”? There is video footage of the dude on camera. We can call him the racist killer now. After the tragedy happens all are defenders of peace, the truth is that fear of reprisals make these kinds of statements. In my opinion, the relatives lived with the shooter knew of his ideologies and never corrected him and eventually evolved into a real attitude.
