If the firefighters had to fight to protect the campus, the fire must have been close. Easier to protect a campus than a road with thousands of students in their vehicles trying to evacuate. You’d need traffic control on the ground as well as firemen to guard the students.

So grateful those brave men fought to save pepperdine ! Go waves

Will pepperdine do anything for firefighters like scholarships for their kids, distance education for the fire eaters?

Unbelievable… They didn’t evacuate the campus what were they thinking?

DoctorDora Any word on reports that pepperdine staff was holding students against their will and in contravention of an evac order?

🤯My word. I spent a summer at Pepperdine; I cannot fathom 'sheltering in place' there. 🙏⚓️❤️🕊️🙏

bgtennisnation Brave men

Thank you for fighting so hard to save this wonderful institution. I can't emagine what everyone who sheltered in place went through last night.

Proper forestry management can help limit the number and size of some forest fires. You can choose to harvest and clear underbrush or lose the forest and perhaps your home and life to the forest fires. In California lives are not as important as trees.

Pepperdine would have burn down to the ground if not for the fire fighters. There would have been no fire fighters if there were no students in the building due to all Malibu was mandatory evacuated. Go figure. Now the university is taking credit how all is safe now.

Brave heroes!

Yeah Trump is attacking the financing of these efforts as well as the veracity and moral Integrity of those that are administrating it. He is trying to manipulate the media with distractions to cover the disastrous election results, and to prevent Trump Jr. indictment

Righteous.

I watched the community meeting & it seems to me that there were only a handful of vocal dissenters, one of which didn’t even lose his home. But so what? Students are more important than buildings and who wants 3,000 more cars added to the gridlock? Residents should be grateful. They’ll probably pray nothing happens, and when something does happen they’ll pray for the families and if nothing happens they’ll say it was the prayer 🙄

Pepperdine University responds to criticism regarding 'shelter in-place' Woosley Fire policyOne student said the campus was calm until a police officer ordered an evacuation in the middle of the night. The officer backtracked minutes later. motherbefore it was made? 3-4k students! let that sink in. That would be a crazy amount of busses clogging the PCH. A glorified two- lane highway in a city with 10s-of- thousands of people all in their cars already in traffic. Malibu and the students were more safe this way. They took care of themselves. I still remember that university. One of beautiful place in my eye.
