All-Marmonte League baseball, softball awards highlighted by Derek Turner and Justin Lambert

Newbury Park swept the big awards. Seniors Derek Turner and Cole Miller won the league’s MVP and Pitcher of the Year awards, respectively. Turner, a USC commit, did it all for the Panthers. He batted .346 with 28 hits and struck out just four times. From the mound, he was 5-1 in 11 appearances with one no-hitter, four complete games, and an ERA of 0.88 with 66 strikeouts in 39 2/3 innings.
