Johnson’s role in Doom was an interesting one as throughout the film he progressed from a hero to a villain due to the impact of the mutation-causing serum.

While Faster received mixed reviews from critics and only grossed just over $35 million against its $24 million budget , it was an enjoyable change of pace for Johnson that showcased his skill at portraying more sinister and bloodthirsty characters. With a simple and straight-to-the-point narrative about Cullen, also known as the Driver, looking for revenge, Faster was an action movie for those who liked their thrills quick and their chase sequences intense.
