Algeria’s Bouteflika pulls out of race for fifth term, postpones presidential election

Protestors hold Algerian flags as they attend a demonstration against President Abdelaziz Bouteflika on the Place de la Republique, in Paris, France, March 10, 2019.

Algeria’s President Abdelaziz Bouteflika will not run for a fifth term, the presidency said on Monday after weeks of protests calling for the ailing leader to step down. The presidency also announced the postponement of a presidential election which had been planned for April. Tens of thousands of people from all social classes have been demonstrating almost daily against Bouteflika’s decision to stand in the election, rejecting a stale political system dominated by veterans of an independence war against France that ended in 1962.Source: TRTWorld and agencies

He hasn't renounced anything. The guy has not been able to speak for years, let alone rule a country. Many believe him to be dead (Mercedes hearse in CH). And that is a very old photo...fake news i would say
