Alexi Lalas deletes and apologizes for tweet about NWSL players kneeling for anthem

. It's not an anti-military/anti-American demonstration but rather a peaceful protest to bring attention to real problems in the country.He tweeted that it took courage to actually stand for the anthem, which woefully missed the point and had many calling out Lalas for the tone-deaf tweet.

The backlash over the tweet eventually had Lalas trending on Twitter, with even the NWSL itself calling him out.And come early Sunday morning, Lalas deleted the tweet and issued an apology. He said that he was"sorry for any hurt or anger it caused."

I would call him weak for changing his point of view and succumbing to peer pressure. This act of kneeling is a disgrace to the men and women who protect and gave their lives so you can enjoy the liberties and freedoms you have today.

Lets get this very clear so all understand. Taking a knee is the greatest respect you can show to your King. It demonstrates complete submission, loyalty, and trust.

Cancel culture got to Alexi, just like Brees, which is too bad. The mob to is trying to censor opinions & ideas they don’t like. We need to encourage all Americans to engage in conversation & debate. Progress doesn’t come from censorship & bullying. Another dark day.
