Heather Salyers, 34, of Bellevue, died in the crash Sunday night in Seneca County, Ohio.

FLAT ROCK, Ohio — A Bellevue woman was killed and a man was injured Sunday when their car struck a parked vehicle Sunday evening in Seneca County, the State Highway Patrol says.

Heather Salyers, 34, of Bellevue, was a front-seat passenger in a 2008 Lincoln MKZ driven by Kenneth Salyers, 36, also of Bellevue, the patrol says. Heather Salyers died of her injuries while Kenneth Salyers was taken to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Toledo with serious injuries. A news release from the patrol says Kenneth Salyers was driving north on County Road 29 at about 7:35 p.m. when his vehicle went left-of-center and hit an unoccupied 2008 Chevrolet Silverado that was parked on the side of the road.

Neither person was wearing a seatbelt, according to the patrol. Troopers say alcohol and drug usage are considered factors, but the crash remains under investigation. Note to readers: if you purchase something through one of our affiliate links we may earn a commission.

Ohio gets closer to allowing adults to carry guns in schoolsOhio is only mere steps away from allowing adults to carry guns in schools with just two hours of hands-on firearm training. It's not 'controversial'. It's psychotic. Why any training needed? Why not just pass out guns in kindergarten like pencils. Unbelievable. Nothing says an enriching environment like guns and violence.
