Citing staffing problems, the Alaska Marine Highway System has announced significant cuts in the summer ferry schedule.

The M/V Kennicott leaving Wrangell on Jan. 8, 2021. Sailings across the Gulf of Alaska from Whittier to Southeast on the Kennicott are postponed until more crew is hired.

The mainliners Columbia and Kennicott will not be sailing at the same time, decreasing ferry service to Prince William Sound and Southeast communities. That’s because the state doesn’t have enough crew to run them, according to a statement from the Alaska Department of Transportation. The Tazlina, which serves the northern panhandle, is also offline due to short staffing. And the mainliner Matanuska is out of service due to repairs.

GovDunleavy is quick to pass the buck on the lack of staff. How about you try funding the Alaska Marine Highway system, and allow hard working folks security and a future with the AMH system?

Newsom not delivering 2023 State of the State speech; will tour state to tout agendaCalifornia Gov. Gavin Newsom won't give a State of the State address this year, shunning the teleprompter that has frustrated him because of his dyslexia in favor of a statewide tour this month. More like a dysfunctional brain! Sleazy politician. He even looks like a typical slime politician you would see in a movie. What’s he gonna say? ODs are down? We actually DONT have the highest number of people living below the poverty line or on welfare?
