Alamo Heights wins third UIL state girls golf crown in four years

GEORGETOWN — It was written on their wrists, and Alamo Heights manifested into existence. “Our moment.” It offered a reminder for the Mules as they battled Frisco Centennial on the back nine in Tuesday’s final round of the UIL Class 5A girls state golf championships at Legacy Hills Golf Course . “We have our motto for every tournament and today it was our moment, my shot right now,” senior Kat Salisbury said. “Not what could happen, not what the other team is doing.

“These five girls are such a strong five,” Vollmer said. “We all have the ability to play well and go low, and I just wanted to get that out of them. It was definitely a fight. It’s way easier to say that, than do. We fought really hard today.” Vollmer, who is signed with Abilene Christian, is the team’s only four-year letter winner. She played each season as the Mules’ No. 1 golfer. “Every single year has been super special for different reasons,” Vollmer said.
