A special flyover with the flag also performed in a medical helicopter on Saturday, however it will remain hanging over the canyon until Veterans Day on Nov. 11.
Saturday's event marked the fifth anniversary that the flag was flown in the canyon, but it was the first time AirLife Utah participated. “Honoring the American flag is important to us personally because there are a lot of people involved in this event that we know really well. From search and rescue to the Sheriff's Office, to the person whom this flag is named after, we as a team have had the opportunity to meet some really heroic people and pay tribute to them," he said. "It Is a privilege to serve a community that makes it a point to show how important our nation’s flag is.
