After days of warm weather, North Texas is getting cold again

Bert McMillan, of McKinney, Texas, brought his daughters, Adelynn , 6, and Emma, 9, to Veterans Memorial Park to commemorate Veterans Day in Plano, Texas Tuesday November 11, 2014. A significant cold front entered North Texas around 3 a.m. Tuesday leaving cooler temperatures for the week ahead. There is a brief chance of showers and a couple thunderstorms this early Wednesday. The better chance will be to the east of DFW. Any showers that affect DFW will be gone by 9 AM.

Chillier air is set to return Thursday with a high back down into the 50s. Looking ahead to the weekend, a chance of rain is in the forecast for Saturday. Highs will be in the 50s this weekend. While the past few weeks have featured well above-normal temperatures, the pattern looks to change next week. Below-normal temperatures are likely as we approach the end of the month.A 40% chance of showers before 9 am, then mostly sunny and breezy. High grass-fire danger to the west of DFW this afternoon. High: 72. Wind: W 15-20 mph.Mostly sunny and cooler. Low: 42. High: 59. Wind: NW 10-15 mph.Cloudy and cooler with a 40% chance of showers. Low: 43. High: 56. Wind: NE 10-15 mph.
