A cable sent to the State Department by staff at the U.S. embassy in Kabul, reviewed by The Wall Street Journal, details scenes of chaos and peril outside the gates of Kabul’s Hamid Karzai International Airport, withand criminal gangs surrounding it. For those who manage to get through the gates, more hardship awaits.
“Some staff told each other they would prefer to die with dignity at home rather than suffer the humiliation, danger and frustration of the existing system at the airport,” the cable, sent over the weekend, said, referring to Afghan staff employed by the embassy or other U.S. agencies.
Of course in Afghanistan they all have top of the range air conditioning systems and super duper toilets to poo upon. Other countries must up their game to appease these sand monkeys.
Reasonably sure the Kurds would have preferred this to their alternate fate.

Not making excuses, but if the worst part of the escape from the Taliban is a short stay in something less than a 3-star Marriott in Qatar, I'd say hug a Marine and call it a good day. BTW, I'm guessing nobody is fighting for those empty seats on the plane back to KBL.
I doubt these people are dwelling on the poor facilities as much as getting the hell out of Afghanistan. It’s only been a couple of days
