A letter from over 200 scientists to the World Health Organization asks for further investigation into how the virus spreads.

, calls for attention and guidance around a third route of transmission: tiny respiratory particles that float in the air and are called aerosols. They could be responsible for infecting someone who comes along and breathes them in. Researchers are actively debating the importance of aerosol transmission and whether precautionary approaches should be taken even without clear answers about its role in the spread of the coronavirus., an atmospheric chemist at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, who signed the letter to WHO.

What kind of 'scientists'? I don't really care what a dendrologist or vulcanologist wants in this case. Facts matter.

NPR google article had poorly written headline that missed the lead. The headline stated: “WHO: Aerosolized Particles Unlikely To Be Significant Source Of COVID-19 Transmission” & ignored this: “The possibility of airborne transmission in public settings ... cannot be ruled out.”

WHO doesn’t give any answers. Need more testing. All speculation. Things could change. Just can’t fully admit they got everything wrong.

A letter to the New England Journal of Medicine from scientists at the NIAID, published in March, described aerosol transmission of covid. They found it stays in the air 3 hours.

This should be common knowledge within households.

yeah there was one of these for 5G… But you didnt care then.

COVID symptoms is a dry cough, most likely creating tiny aerosols that blow right through most masks worn today.

Are you all going to talk about how a large majority of the population would test positive for COVID-19 antibodies by now, and that the data is being manipulated by the media to cause fear and hysteria and hatred? you all used to be a good news source.... sad

Ew.

What percentage of scientistes would those 200 represent ? Once you reported over 1600 Google employees petitioned for cutting off ties with law enforcement agencies. But you didnt tell us they only represented 1.4% of Google workforce of 140 K .

REQUIRE Nursing Care Homes and Schools, Restaurants and Gyms to have a NEGATIVE Pressure VENTILATIONS FANS with MERV13 AIRFILTERS to reduce VIRUSES in Air Circulation just like in Hospitals !!! WEARMASKS MASK4ALL

Eliminate all sneezing now. Get rid of allergies.

I thought that was trump in the pic at first and almost spit out my food Lololololol

The spitting image of yuck.

A tab bit late in the game for this, dontcha think? What's next, how fire burns if you touch it?

Maybe this pic will inspire more people to wear a mask

That is the most disgusting picture you could’ve used for that, and I’d be angry if I didn’t think the picture could also gross people out enough to possibly wear a freaking mask.

This article is misleading. We have very little evidence which of these three mechanisms is more important. Close contact between people includes all three vectors. Fomite exchange is the main reason you're being told to wash your hands.

Ok, then rather sit in the back row of a Trump press conference

Nearly 240 experts urge WHO, CDC to acknowledge airborne transmission of COVID-19Microdroplets of infectious coronavirus could be airborne for hours and current social distancing practices may not be enough to stop infection and spread, experts argue. But your cloth masks should stop it. Right? Then all the protesters are toast. Real physicians already knew this... respiratory diseases spread via airborne virus...seriously. It is a well known mode of infection. This is what happens when WHO’s head is a non M.D. Why the hell do you think N95 masks/eye shield are only thing that works though not 100%
