Creative software giant Adobe says it’s announcing breakthrough generative AI within its video editing software Adobe Premiere Pro that its new technology will change video production with new creative possibilities.
Creative Cloud has always supported an ecosystem for third-party plugins and this will be expanded to Premiere Pro. Adobe says early explorations have shown how professional video editors could leverage video generation models from OpenAI and Runway from within Premiere Pro, to generate a B-roll to edit into a project. It also shows how Pika Labs could be used with the Generative Extend tool to add a few seconds to the end of a shot.
Object Addition and Removal will make it easy to select and track objects and then replace them. The technology can remove unwanted items, change an actor’s wardrobe or quickly add set dressings such as a painting or photorealistic flowers on a desk.Text to Video will generate entirely new footage directly within Premiere Pro by typing text into a prompt or uploading reference images.
