Adam Driver sets out to fight dinosaurs and stay alive after crash landing on an alien planet in the newest trailer for 65. Written and directed by the writers of A Quiet Place, Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, 65 stars Adam Driver as an astronaut named Mills, who crash lands on a mysterious planet and discovers he isn't the only one there.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY In a new action-packed trailer for the sci-fi adventure 65 shared by Sony Pictures, Driver comes face-to-face with some vicious dinosaurs. The previous trailer for 65 showed the former Star Wars antagonist arriving on the strange planet, which the new trailer expands on with a sequence of Driver's astronaut soaring through the atmosphere. The new official trailer for the project also shows off more of the planet that Driver and Greenblatt get stranded on in the film, including some gorgeous shots of natural weather events and tornadoes scattered throughout a sandy desert landscape.
The limited looks at 65 that have been revealed suggest that the film will follow in the tone of A Quiet Place, with Driver and Greenblatt mostly on their own, braving the foreign elements of the planet. Driver's past work has seen him show off a great deal of acting range. His big breakout role as Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy tasked the actor with a lot of soul-searching scenes.
In recent years, Driver has done more self-contained stories as opposed to franchises, acting as a standout character in Marriage Story, The Report, and The Last Duel. The actor's past work on projects that involved him performing in intimate settings, in addition to his action-heavy performances on Star Wars and other projects, make it fairly clear why he was picked as the lead for 65.
So, what “After Earth” was going for.
Actually quite hyped for this.
