Activists call for more charges against Jason Van Dyke, protest early release

Among the activists demanding the shutdown are William Calloway, the person who fought for the video of Van Dyke shooting McDonald to be released to the public. Calloway is calling on local unions to stop CTA trains and buses in protest of Van Dyke's early release. "This is a direct slap into the face of the Black community. This is a direct slap into the face of those allies of the Black community and all those who have been fighting for justice. and police reform, not just in the city of Chicago but nationwide," Calloway said.after being convicted back in 2018 on second-degree murder and aggravated battery charges.

This is asinine. To raise all this noise on for a request for Van Dyke to be federally charged after he's on the verge to be released. Where were they at the beginning? I'm not pleased with any of this. Their protest or his release.

These “community leaders” whatever that is, should be more concerned with 4 shot and killed this weekend, and it’s still early.

The Community leaders should start teaching the young precious children from their own COMMUNITIES to stop with the 4600 shootings and 820 homicides plus hundreds of car jackings not excluding the weekly looting that occurs throughout the city to please stop! Chicago needs a rest
