Joseph Maguire told several members of the House Intelligence Committee multiple times that his conversations with Trump are "privileged," as he rebuffed questions about whether he and the president have discussed the whistleblower's complaint.
The release came after House Democrats launched an impeachment inquiry into Trump over concerns that he had leaned on Ukraine's president during a July 25 phone call and other times to probe Biden, the former vice president, and his son Hunter Biden, who previously served on the board of a Ukrainian natural gas company, in order to harm Biden's ongoing bid for the Democratic presidential nomination.
That explanation was met with dismay by Democrats, who questioned the proprietary of asking White House staff whether it would be appropriate to give Congress a complaint about the leader of the White House: Trump. "This was different. To me it just seemed prudent to be able to check and ensure as a member of the Executive Branch before I sent it forward," Maguire said.
Because.....he cannot
It was a punt of epic proportions. Basically trying to wash his hands of Trump’s wrongdoings that he has been drug into. Trump is like a category 5 storm destroying every reputable person/career that comes into his path. There is no explaining away this Ukraine call/coverup.
So that’s a yes
Hint: he totally did.
Trump said today that he wants to find out who all talked to the whistleblower & commented about how “spies used to be treated”, an unquestioned threat of retaliation against whistleblowers. Impeachment seems to be the only way our govt maintains any credibility at this point.
When are they going to release the Biden transcripts? The man has already bragged on camera about committing a Quid Pro Quo to protect his kid from a special prosecutor investigation.
This is disgusting corruption and all involved need to be charged and prosecuted. Nobody is above the law
Which means he did....
I'll take that as a yes.
He didn’t say much of anything, except it wasn’t his responsibility, and he is the Director of National Intelligence. Wow.
I heard Pat Urn usually speaks up
His non-answer is really a yes
This guy is totally worthless.
