One of the two men accused of terrorizing 7-Eleven employees and customers during a deadly crime spree in Southern California last week could face the death penalty in connection to the attacks.

“He executed innocent people and he shot others. His behavior and the crime spree he engaged in … it’s chilling,” said Spitzer. The second alleged shooter, Jason Payne, 44, also will be charged with three counts of robbery and one count of attempted robbery. Law enforcement officials said Patt and Payne could be tied to similar robberies in Los Angeles-area 7-Eleven stores, including an incident where a homeless man was robbed.
