How are voters reacting to the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision in June, which ended the constitutional right to abortion and returned the issue to the states?

in June, which ended the constitutional right to abortion and returned the issue to the states? There is a sense among political strategists and voters alike that if Democrats do well in the midterms—whenfavor Republicans—it will be because of abortion. Nationally, voter registrations have been more Democratic, more female and younger than they were before the Dobbs decision in June.

I recently spent time in Michigan, where voters are paying extra attention to the issue because in November they will decide whether to codify in state law the right to end a pregnancy. We saw earlier this year when 60% of voters in Republican-leaning KansasIn the suburbs of Grand Rapids, where Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer grew up, women told me that they were paying closer attention to races up and down the ballot post-Dobbs.

WSJ: How are Republicans responding to suburban women who say they are more motivated to vote for Democrats since the high court’s ruling?PREVIEWRepublicans broadly recognize that abortion could drive up Democratic votes. In quite a few cases, GOP candidates have adjusted how they talk about abortion since the Kansas ban failed. We’re seeing them play down the issue and instead focus almost exclusively on the weak economic conditions, a topic that polls have shown benefits Republicans.

Tudor Dixon, Ms. Whitmer’s Republican opponent, said in a television interview a few months ago that even a teenager raped by a relative shouldn’t seek to end her pregnancy. In a recent debate, she said that while she personally opposes abortion, she would respect what Michigan voters decide on the ballot question about it. That’s a significant change in what she is choosing to emphasize about her stance.

Pretty much no one cares

The right exists in my states constitution, other states can do the same.

Quiet impact that will loudly show up at the polls.

Really don’t know what is real but I’m sure you will let us know how to emotionally react.😷🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🇺🇦🤪💉💉🌊🌊😷😷

All voters or only leftist womxn voters? My guess is that if you point out to these voters that abortion is now a state legislative or voter issue, they’ll blink and talk about womxn healthcare and reproductive rights. They want a dictator’s decree on this.

It's were it's supposes to be. The States desides.

National politicos can look to Mississippi for answers on impact of disabilities on elected officeholdersDebate is swirling about whether Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, a Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate, is fit for office. Several notable Mississippi lawmakers served the state well with disabilities. Accusing people with the disabilities whether physical or health wise is slander in my book. Remember when the local Tea party/Trumpers went after a senior Mississippi US senator wife? I thought we were all Christians?
