An ABC News producer who died after he left his kids at a hotel so he and his wife could go to a posh Midtown restaurant choked to death because he was drunk, officials said Wednesday.
New York City’s Office of Chief Medical Examiner told The Post that Dax Tejera’s official cause of death was “asphyxia due to obstruction of airway by food bolus complicating acute alcohol intoxication” — not a heart attack as previously stated. Tejera, who was the executive producer of ABC’s “This Week with George Stephanopoulos,” died on Dec. 23.

It’s incredibly sad this father choked to death (perhaps aspirated while so drunk), but the other element of this story is disgusting. You cannot leave children alone. If you’re going to be patents, then parent. Be responsible. I’m hearing more of this “leaving children.” Wrong!

Being a parents is hard work but WTF! How do you leave your small children alone in a hotel room while you go eat/choke. Hopefully those children will be safe with someone else.
