Police say a 78-year-old woman has been arrested in connection to a fatal crash at a San Francisco bus stop that killed two adults and a child and injured an infant who remains hospitalized. Jail records show Mary Fong Lau was booked into jail on Sunday and remained in custody Monday.

Three people were killed and an infant was hospitalized in critical condition after an SUV crashed into a bus shelter in San Francisco, authorities said Sunday. The area around a bus stop near Muni’s West Portal Station is fenced off after a sport utility vehicle crashed into the stop, killing multiple people and injuring others, Saturday, March 16, 2024.

Jail officials said Monday that Lau had not yet appeared in court. It was not immediately known if she had an attorney who could speak on her behalf.
