The coronavirus outbreak has fueled a surge in racism against Asian-Americans around the country. CNN's Chief Medical Correspondent Sanjay Gupta hears from some Americans who have personally experienced racism and he talks about why there's no place for hate in our country.
You can listen to this episode in your favorite podcast app or read the transcript below.Dr. Sanjay Gupta: As word spread of a new virus out of Wuhan, China, a stigma spread with it.Maybe you've seen the videos on social media of Asian-Americans being harassed on the street or in public transit. It's hard to watch but it's important to talk about. The thing is ... a virus doesn't care about borders ... Nor does it care about the race of whom it infects.

drsanjaygupta the Washington Post fueled the racism with their newspaper.
drsanjaygupta If this is even true, it’s the Democrats fault. They all have this open borders and sanctuary cities love. So the virus came in it’s killing thousands of people so some horrible people are mad but most people are not at Chinese government only are we mad
drsanjaygupta Hate is a strong word, no humanity should ever have to endure it’s snake bite. Racism is completely full of poisonous vile; however, I must add a real truth that’s often overwhelmingly over look! Asians are extremely Racist toward Black people and they have been for centuries!!
drsanjaygupta The same ones who see this as entertainment are upset that they're getting the same treatment they put out? 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
drsanjaygupta Wild how ppl comment that this is a hoax, then say something racist about Asian. No self awareness.
drsanjaygupta sad - this is why we need Trump to shut his mouth about this being called “The China Virus” - for all we know it could’ve been planted in China by Russia? and we all know that Trump just adores the Kremlin & Kim Jong-un
drsanjaygupta
drsanjaygupta CNN fighting other people's prejudices! (again) Curious: Is strong disdain for a specific class of people a form of racism? As Atticus Finch said, we all have our blind spots.
drsanjaygupta I love how CNN can’t waste a pandemic to try and spin this for political purposes.
drsanjaygupta Agree wholeheartedly.
drsanjaygupta Asian Americans Are Pissed at China, Like everyone Else! Being pissed is not racism! Talking about Racism...is racism and divisive!
drsanjaygupta The AIDS was called gay cancer in the US. I am not surprised what is happening now. Discrimination is anchored in the culture.
drsanjaygupta CNN’s wishful thinking.
drsanjaygupta In recent days, the us government stigmatized the virus in order to cover up the fact that it was not able to fight the epidemic. Racist remarks drowned out the voice of accountability. The so-called beacon of democracy and human rights has become a country controlled by fascists
drsanjaygupta We really need to remove this president in Nov. In these dire situations any leaders rhetoric should be cohesive. Instead Trump has been blatantly divisive
drsanjaygupta Race....yawn
drsanjaygupta 是愛心!
Glenn10TV drsanjaygupta When you’re FakeNews doesn’t work y’all go straight to the RaceCard Pathetic!
drsanjaygupta Just shameful.
drsanjaygupta I am not of black race i am Arab with brown skin but i faced racism by White Supremacist whit Americans labelling me 'black' 😂
