Analysis of the incredibly rare gem suggests a soggy environment in the Earth's lower mantle.

“Subducting plates often have difficulty in breaking through the entire transition zone. So there is a whole graveyard of such plates in this zone underneath Europe,” said Brenker.

To look for evidence of water, the team analyzed a very rare diamond mined from 410 miles below the surface of the Earth. The gem-quality diamond was found at the Karowe mine in Botswana.that while working as a research fellow at Gemological Institute of America , the team was curious about the origin of this diamond and its aggregated nitrogen defects. “We were curious about their origin.”Within the diamond, the team found inclusions surrounding it.

That soggy environment is abiotic oil. Perhaps oil is not a fossil fuel as we are lead to believe by those that stand to profit or use this as a reason to move away from abundant and cheap energy for all because of climate change. Research the possibility….

Very interesting that the water wouldn't be steam at those depths; with those processes.
