John Krasinski confirms the start of filming on A Quiet Place: Day One. Krasinski wrote the story for, directed and starred in the original alien invasion horror movie A Quiet Place back in 2018, and the film went on to be a surprise hit with $341 million at the worldwide box office. Krasinski’s character of course died in that film, but the franchise marched on with 2020’s A Quiet Place Part II, which also did well financially, grossing $297 million.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Krasinski’s participation in A Quiet Place the franchise continues to diminish, as he’s not on-board to star in or direct the prequel A Quiet Place: Day One, but he’s obviously still involved in the production and was on-hand to commemorate the first day of filming with the obligatory slate photo posted to social media.
Though Krasinski didn’t direct this one, he does get a story credit, and remains as a producer . Among other things, the newly posted BTS images confirm that previously announced star Lupita Nyong'o is indeed on-set and ready to help tell the next chapter in the A Quiet Thing saga. The background may also offer clues as to the movie's setting.
Story details on A Quiet Place: Day One are unsurprisingly being kept firmly under wraps for the time being, though the title obviously gives away where the movie takes place on the overall A Quiet Place timeline .
Now that filming has commenced on A Quiet Place: Day One, it shouldn’t be too much longer before fans are treated to more casting reveals and BTS goodies. A trailer may be a long time coming however, given that the film is still over a year away from being released.
