Ayers built the home with concrete reinforced with steel and covered in stucco, and billing it as one of the first “fire-proof” homes of San Antonio. The residence was modeled after an Italian villa built in the 1600s, and it features Italian accents throughout, including tile work, fireplaces and fixtures.
