A $70-million, 12-story building with affordable and market-rate apartments and commercial space on the first two floors is planned on the site of the United Way of Central Ohio's Downtown headquarters at 360 S. 3rd St.
There will be no difference as to what's included in the market-rate units and affordable units, she said, with first-floor retail and nonprofit groups on the second floor. When United Way decided to sell the property, a real estate task force of United Way employees, board members, community volunteers and outside advisers reviewed proposals and made a final recommendation tothe United Way's board.
"They have the expertise. They have a national track record. They became a logical partner in this," he said.
