Authorities in Valley, Alabama, have arrested an 82-year-old woman for failing to pay several months' worth of trash bills.
The citation informed Menefield about a Sept. 7 court date, police said, and when she did not appear for the hearing, a warrant was issued.

Per NBC. The first time she didn’t pay was in 2006. She would of been 66 years old. The balance was $206.54 it was dismissed “upon compliance. The balance currently was only $76. Good Lord Seriously. To pick on an Elderly Woman over a $76 garbage bill. SMH.

It is not a service as it is a tax and spend . When the town contracts for the whole town, it gets paid by the community but why does the town mandate trash pickup but leave it to individual collections ? Simply contract and add it to the town budget .
This is what happens when trash pickup is allowed to be negotiated and mandated by a municipality.
