Malik Ford said he wanted to help the homeless when he grew up. He's now helping them at 8-years-old instead.

INDIANAPOLIS — As temperatures begin to drop, the need to keep the homeless warm is important to 8-year-old Malik Ford. When given a school project about what he wanted to be when he grew up, he said"I want to feed the homeless.". The first Saturday of every month, he spends in front of Central Library handing out hot meals and blankets to the homeless.

"For him to have so much compassion for the homeless population in the city of Indianapolis, it just touched me and made me want to cry," Malik's godfather David Chaney said. Malik has not let anything stop him from helping the homeless. Malik's mother cooks the meals while Chaney helped him set up the donations. In 2022, they gave out around 100 blankets. Malik wants to give more this year.
