Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has teased a lot of excitement for season 2, with a trailer hinting at several canon events that could play out in the upcoming episodes. The Prime Video series used its first season to establish the Second Age story, with a condensed timeline and some creative liberties to make the complex tale work in this format.

The massive bridge in Khazad-dûm was seen crumbling in the Rings of Power season 2 trailer, and, combined with Durin's voiceover saying that a dark and ancient evil had returned, this seems to indicate that the Balrog's destruction will begin sooner rather than later. Of course, it's possible that the bridge falling to pieces is the result of the Balrog's movements shaking the cave, and the Dwarves may not have yet uncovered it.

5 Durin III Obtaining One Of The Seven Rings King Durin III May Be A Recipient Of A Ring Of Power Close There's further evidence in the Rings of Power season 2 trailer that Sauron and Celebrimbor will create the remaining 16 Rings of Power since King Durin III is seen holding a beautiful jeweled ring in a brief clip. Sauron gave each of the Seven to seven Dwarf kings and lords, but Tolkien's books never specifically named those who received them.

The frozen surroundings of the tower in the Rings of Power season 2 trailer may indicate that this isn't Barad-dûr but instead Morgoth's fortress from the First Age.
