Over the last decade, Ayo Edebiri has made a name for herself in television and film. After graduating from New York University, she pursued a career in comedy writing, performing stand-up and joining the writing team for Netflix's adult animated comedy, Big Mouth, in 2020. Her breakout role came in The Bear, where she played the ambitious Sydney Adamu.
Jayson's personality is that of a teen with nothing better to do than what he's doing now. He took the job because it lets him shoot guns and launch missiles at Matty's command, and because Matty is an idiot, all he has to do is claim he's a war hero to get rid of any suspicion regarding his age.

We Lost Our Human is an interactive movie for young children, and Ham serves as a pretty good protagonist. Her personality is playful and bubbly enough to keep kids invested, and as the journey goes on, they can learn through her the importance of thinking about others and looking before leaping. Edebria's voice is a good fit for Ham's boundless energy and big heart, giving him a lovable childish innocence.
This version of April is very different from previous versions of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, being a socially awkward teenager seeking acceptance rather than a confident, go-getting reporter. This change isn't necessarily bad: her status as an outsider means that she has more of a reason to bond with and befriend the turtles, since she knows what it's like to be on the outside looking in.
