A black sixth-grader apologized to her school on Monday, admitting that she had falsely accused white classmates of pinning her to the ground and forcefully cutting her dreadlocks.
"To those young boys and their parents, we sincerely apologize for the pain and anxiety these allegations have caused," the family said in a statement released by the school."To the administrators and families of Immanuel Christian School, we are sorry for the damage this incident has done to trust within the school family and the undue scorn it has brought to the school."
She said she waited three days before telling her family because she was afraid of possible retaliation. It did not say how the falsehoods came to light on Monday, but the family said it was ready to"take responsibility" and face the potential consequences.

We've all done things we're not proud of. I was in first grade at a Catholic school and told my teacher that a White boy had cut my shirt. I waited a bit and told my parents, after my mom had words with the boy's parents, that I actually did it. I learned that lies hurt.
I hope she gets the help she needs. That said, I see no comments in support of the 3 boys and their families, all who were put through the wringer due to this sad, false accusation. I wish them healing, too. So many were eager to rush to judgement, yet again.

it really didnt seem like a real story the first I read it..
Kids do strange things. My 5-yr old spent days working teeth out of her head. Turns out teacher gave attention to other kids losing their front teeth. Dentist figured I must have punched her in the mouth. Those teeth were not ready to come out yet and took forever to grow in.
This is really sad. I worry for her and what caused her to do this. Instead of condemnation get her help as if she was your own daughter.
