It was on this day in 1955 when a simple act of defiance elevated a seamstress in Montgomery, Alabama, into a pivotal symbol in America's civil rights movement.

On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks refused to move to the back of a city bus. Little did the 42-year-old know that her act would help end segregation laws in the South. She was on her way home from work that evening and took a seat in the front of the black section of a city bus in Montgomery. The bus filled up, and the bus driver demanded she move so a white male passenger could have her seat. But Parks refused to give up her seat, and police arrested her.

The next tweet for another 3 weeks . Have to get used to it

likes to give Trump voters the Rosa Parks treatment. Tolerant and Inclusive. Stunning and Brave.

Please remember the generosity of Ilitch, owner of Little Caesar’s. He bought & maintained Mrs. Parks’ condo...all done on the QT.

People can continue to love the Democratic Party, But people should not elect a president who betray the United States,Because they controlled by other country. 🙏✨USA and American Citizen 🙏✨Angels will record people's actions and evil must be punished。

Quero Alexandre Kalil candidato a presidente da república em 2022.

On December 1 2020 the corrupt cnn will be exposed!!

But sadly in 21st century, we have a president trying to disallow a large portion of votes from people of color, many who are black. We always like to think we've come so far but it only takes 1 man & his worshipers to try to drag us back. ALLVOTESCOUNT

And the democrats have done everything in their power to bring back racial division.

i have studyed on this it is sad

She had all the right in the world! We are all equal.

and what a shame we are in that reflection of hope.

Curious about cnns motivations? Veritas recorded months of cnn top brass meetings and will be leaking tonight starting at 7

the ignorant christians, and the confederate flags and statues are coming down..... not because of republicans, but in spite of them_______

It was a set up. But it was still brave!

Isn't this a lie.

Hey you guys excited about those calls being released today? I am.

Sadly, in America today, too many people of color still aren't getting the chance to sit where they want on the bus that is America

'Nah.'

Wow. I forgot about this.

Claudette Colvin did it first...but was deemed not worthy to be the “face” because she was a teenager and thought it would alienate people. Parks was chosen for the legendary role. Thank you for being the real groundbreaker, Miss Colvin.

good

Something factual ?

Wouldn’t she be so proud to witness Kamala. Bet she is smiling from above

Drum Major for Justice!

Rosa said not today Satan

IamIsaiahKing They had color photos in the 50s it would be nice to see this in color

Dear everyone, We get it. You know who Claudette Colvin is. Thanks, but that’s not the topic of this story. Just drop your links and dip. Thanks.

DeeWilliamsXXX It's sad they don't teach history in schools the way they used to and still should.

Modern day liberals would tell her to get up so it doesn’t ruin white turnout in next years elections

RESPECTLITTLEMIX fight back

MbuyiseniNdlozi And here's MbuyiseniNdlozi wanting the opposite to happen.

Back when I was growing up in Scranton the back of the bus is where the cool kids sat.

Segregation didn't fully end in the US and not just in the South

Amazing Courage....

Found out this was fake news too, go f*cking figure. Like i always say 50% of history is made up bullsh!t the other 50% isn't worth remembering.

Rosa Parks was one of many black men and women who refused to sit at the back of the bus. History is changed because of many who refuse to abide by unjust rules. Not just one. Iconic history is toxic to any movement for change.

I can't understand why people treated other people differently because of the colour of the skin. But somehow this was 'normal' back then. Glad it changed.

Admirable, id of loved to support people like her and Dr.King, but sadly I'm stuck in a generation of domestic Terrorists Like BLM and Antifa portraying themselves as a movement for justice as they kill, riot, loot and destroy their own communities, sad what people have become

Joke..Joke..Joke..

so?🤨 another black women did the exact same thing but she got no recognition because she was darkskin...stop dismissing the colourism this story holds.

This was a beginning for my people.

She lived a life of legacy.

Thank you Mrs Park for breaking the barrier!! , She was Called 'the mother of the civil rights movement,'
