60-year-old man airlifted to hospital after house explosion , fire in Commercial Twp., New JerseyA man was injured in a house explosion early Monday morning in Cumberland County, New Jersey.
Emergency crews responded to an explosion and fire in the 6200 block of Battle Lane in Commercial Township around 4:45 a.m.The resident, a 60-year-old man, sustained moderate injuries and was airlifted to an area hospital. While part of the home is still standing, the rest of the home was blown apart. Pieces of doors, roofing and fencing were strewn all over the property.Crews from South Jersey Gas were on the scene along with New Jersey State Police fire marshals and Cumberland County officials."It was like 4 a.m. and I heard a loud bang. I thought that it was thunder.
