But $100,000 also doesn't go that far in today's economy. Sixty percent of millennials raking in over $100,000 a year say they're living paycheck to paycheck, according to a newwhich analyzed economic data and census-balanced surveys of over 28,000 Americans.

It found that the more than half Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. And nearly 40% of high-earners — those making more than $100,000 annually — say they live that way. That means high-earning millennials aren't the only ones feeling stretched thin, but they feel that way more than their six-figure making peers. Living on constrained budgets may therefore have less to do with income and more to do with expenses, the report says.— short for high earner, not rich yet. The acronym that was invented back in 2003, but has come to characterize a certain group of 30-something six-figure earners who struggle to balance their spending and savings habits.

That's because they were not taught how to manage their money these are the same stupid people that can't seem to pay down their student loans but a guy making 30k a year it seem to be by his own house because he knows how to manage his money he doesn't go out eat, buy new cell

thisisinsider Lol idiots

It's not hard at all to make ends meet with $100K. The cost of living can be quite low if you don't care about 'status', but advertising everywhere tells the weak-willed that they have to. 'Status' also includes elite degrees.

Its all bout spending and investing.

A single person living paycheck to paycheck makes sense if you are just getting started. I hope they build a safety net over the coming years.

Umm No! It’s how people manage their money today. Millennials (I am one) spend our money irresponsibly on stuff we don’t need. I make roughly what is said and I have plenty to survive with and some being married and 3 kids.

After taxes your not left with much cost of living in a big city isn’t cheap. Wouldn’t say paycheque to paycheque but is obvious you need dual incomes

I live in NYC with my wife, daughter and newborn son. We earned around 55K In 2020 and are NOT living paycheck to paycheck. We are however living within our means!

7 figures is the new 6 figures

If you want to live COMFORTABLY in any HCOL area, you need to make at least 500k annually. It’s sad how expensive these cities have become.

To earn that they have to live in a of city. Which means expenses are huge. All cities have huge housing shortage. And they have student debt.

Meanwhile they eat out Uber eats every single meal, and bought a Tesla they can’t afford so they’re making huge payments and they have the newest phone every year

AltonBertie sad.

How is still possible? Are they having steak and lobster every day?

Inflation and absurd cost of living are forcing even well earning millenials into the lower-middle class. Fixed your headline.

Drug habits aren't really a necessity.

KevinKeKeFuego it's impractical not to get married g 😅😅

Try doing it at 59. 100k is taxed at 37%

Then they don't know how to manage money.

Two words…Student Debt

That’s because that 100k is only worth about 65k

%60 of millennials don’t know how to budget.

Anyone have a small violin?

That's a laugh. Living beyond your means, anyone?

Another stupid headline

Is this news? Doesn't living paycheck to paycheck mean you spend almost as much as you make? Whether you make $40,000 or $300,000?
